Individual Therapy

Is individual therapy right for me?

If you need effective solutions and support to deal with your problems, a therapist can help you. In therapy you can begin to understand your obstacles and make the changes you need to find relief. With expert guidance, you can move toward greater emotional health. Individual therapy offers one-on-one help from a compassionate professional with the training in psychology to help you tackle tough, painful issues.

How Can Individual Therapy Help You?

Therapy sessions are a safe space to explore the things that bother you at work, in relationships or about yourself. You and your therapist will be partners in your treatment, working together to find solutions that help you based on your personal psychological make-up and life goals. You may have specific problems and want a short-term, very focused approach. Or, you may want to opt for a longer-term, more in-depth approach as you broadly explore your true self. Your therapist will work with your personal goals for treatment and growth.

Your therapist can help you with:

  • Couples’ issues
  • Family therapy
  • Psychology of love and dating
  • Relationships with family and friends
  • Personal growth
  • Career changes
  • Stress or burn-out
  • Addiction psychology and treatment
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Eating disorders
  • Grief and loss
  • Parenting frustrations
  • Communication skills

The Montreal Therapy Centre has definitely changed my life. I finally found somebody who made me open up and confront years of pain and confusion.

Working with my therapist at the Montreal Therapy Centre has been such a life-changing experience for me. I used to have frequent bouts of depression and self-doubt but learning some basic skills in positive self-talk and having someone to bounce my thoughts off of has helped tremendously. Now I go back for check-ins once in a while but I am overall such a happier, more self-assured person.

When I started all of this I was afraid, that nothing would change. I thought that I’ll try something hopeless, spend some money, talking with someone on a couch and return back to usual after a while. I was lost. Drifting through the paths of life, unable to face reality, avoiding fighting my problems, impossible to take decisions, completely defeated. I started to realize what was the main knot that kept me prisoner in my own life and I caught it. Since then and step by step I entered to reality .I left my depression and my fears back and with determination I started discovering new ways to be in control and new techniques to solve my problems. Looking back I cannot believe how bad I was and what I became now. To who will read this I have to say one thing. Don’t be afraid to ask for this kind of help. At the Montreal Therapy Centre you will find it and it will be effective. I hope your life will become better as mine became.

A good (great) therapist like mine is kind, compassionate- does not judge you but will be honest and true and challenge you to take steps out of your comfort zone to show yourself what you are really capable of.
Therapy has been an amazing gift for me.
