Spring break is a great time to focus on your family and spend some quality time with your kids. There are so many things you can do with kids in and around Montreal, but the best ones are those that allow you to join in on the fun!  Sharing fun times together is a great way to bond with your child and create wonderful memories.  Let’s have a look at our top 4 picks.

Montreal Planetarium

How long has it been since your last visit to the planetarium? With all that buzz created by Elon Musk and SpaceX it’s a perfect time for you and your child to start learning more about space.  With its interactive exhibits and beautiful design, the experience is bound to delight the senses and trigger the imagination.  You can visit their website and watch a short teaser video to get an idea on the current shows.

The exhibition is worth visiting too, so plan enough time to be able to see everything. It’s $20.50 regular price and $16 for us as Quebec residents. Go check it out with your kids

Archery and a Nerf Gun Range at Sports de Combats

Vacation is a great time to try new things!  From horseback riding, to zip lining, yoga to belly dancing, novelty helps to create some of the most memorable experiences. Good news- you live in Montreal, an amazing city where everything is possible!  You don’t need to wait for another vacation to try something cool.

If you are game to try something different, there is an archery range in Montreal that offers activities for kids.  Sports de Combats is located in the Plateau area of the city. It’s a large space that includes a rage room where you can smash old electronics and other stuff with a baseball bat, archery range, knife/axe throwing and a nerf gun range for kids. Book an intro lesson for you and your kids and within an hour they will teach you everything you need to know. If your kids are small they might enjoy a nerf gun range at the same location.

Ice Hotel + Water Park in Quebec City

Have you ever been to Hôtel de Glace in Quebec City? This year it’s open all the way until March 25th and it’s absolutely worth a road trip. You don’t have to stay there, you can simply enjoy a cocktail or two at the ice bar and walk around to explore this magical place. There’s a great tobogganing slide for kids as well as a big indoor waterpark located right next to the hotel.

The Ice Hotel has 45 rooms with absolutely amazing unique designs by various artists. During the day, all rooms are open to public, so you can walk around and take pictures. It’s a must see attraction and a definite must-see at least once in your life.

Get an Airbnb in Quebec City and make a weekend trip out of it! Enjoy!

Rock Climbing at Allez-Up

How about trying something physical and taking your kids rock climbing?  It’s a lot of fun for young and old alike.  Allez Up Climbing/Escalade is an indoor rock climbing gym located on Saint-Patrick St. close to Griffintown.

Allez Up welcomes walk ins on Sundays (1PM-5PM) for those who want to try climbing. It’s $26.50 and you don’t need a reservation. Just wear your normal gym clothes and your running shoes. You can also rent a pair of climbing shoes for $3 to enhance your climbing experience.

It’s very safe and not too challenging physically at the beginner’s level. If you have a sense of adventure and want to try something new, this is a great activity for the whole family!
